Dan Coburn is a fully qualified primary school teacher with over 20 years experience in the profession. He has taught across key stages 1 and 2 working for Wirral and Liverpool Education Authorities and is fully DBS checked.

 

Dan has an extensive, in-depth knowledge of the core subjects and has over a decade’s worth of experience in preparing Year 6 pupils for the end of year Standardised Assessment Tests (SATs). In addition to his role as a class teacher, Dan has lead core subjects such as English and mathematics across his school, been a key stage leader and is a qualified Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo).

 

Working within education gives Dan an up-to-date and relevant understanding of the National Curriculum and more importantly, the best teaching methods to engage pupils and enhance learning. His individualised and child-centred approach uses methods and teaching styles suited to all learners. Lessons (learning journeys) are always fun and engaging for students.  

 

Dan’s passion for tutoring was ignited after successfully tutoring his own daughter and her friends through the 11+ and Upton exams.  He now offers specialised tuition for the Wirral 11 Plus exam and entrance exams for: Upton Hall School and St. Anselm’s College.

 Alongside the entrance exam courses, LEAD offers sessions for those wishing to improve their confidence in maths and English (Y3-6) and preparation courses for the Year 6 SATs.

Whilst the majority of learning is done collaboratively (small groups of up to 4), LEAD also offers 1:1 tuition if requested.
